SUMMER CAMP 2019: July 8-12, July 22-26, (Tentative: August 5-9)
ABOUT SUMMER CAMP
Our camp program is designed for children ages 5-12 to give beginning and novice riders an introduction to riding and horse care and management. The program focuses on safe practices for riding and horse handling. We also strive to educate the young equine enthusiast in proper care and management of the horse at a level that is appropriate to the camper’s age.
Each day, campers will assist in feeding, watering, grooming and tacking up school horses. Campers will have a daily riding lesson. In addition, they will participate in a number of activities that will teach them about care and management of horse (ie. nutrition, hoof care, first aide etc.) and equestrian sport (ie. breeds, equestrian sport disciplines etc). The program follows the Equine Canada Learn to Ride program and prepares riders for the Learn to Ride examinations which a can be taken at Cidermill when riding coaches deem candidates ready.
